Kathi uses her skills to treat patients with a holistic and integrative approach to healthcare, treating not just the symptoms, but getting to the root of the problem. Kathi L. Wotal is a state licensed acupuncturist, board certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbs by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), and is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. Kathi graduated summa cum laude from National University of Health Sciences.

Kathi is also a part-time instructor with the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Department at National University of Health Sciences, and for 4 years ran a free clinic treating anxiety and post-traumatic stress.

Kathi enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal pain, joint pain, recovery from injury, arthritis, tendinitis, insomnia, asthma, allergies, digestive issues (IBS, acid reflux, chronic constipation or diarrhea, etc.), smoking cessation, weight loss assistance, post-surgical healing, support of symptom relief during cancer treatment, neuropathy, and women's health issues (painful/irregular periods, menopausal symptom relief, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids).

Kathi has also developed a passion for treating issues of mental health, including depression, anxiety, stress, and post-traumatic stress. Kathi has special insight into the issues these patients and their families have since she also has family members who are living with some of these conditions. So often these patients are suffering greatly on the inside, while on the outside no one knows what pain they are in.

In the theory of Chinese medicine, the mind and body are intertwined, so both must be addressed to bring the body back to its naturally balanced state of health. Your body wants to be healthy. Acupuncture and essential oils are a wonderful way to help your mind and body heal naturally, using your body's intrinsic healing abilities.

Kathi and her husband are long time residents of Palatine, and have raised 4 children, and are now proud grandparents.
