Out of an abundance of caution I have temporarily closed the acupuncture clinic for the safety and health of my patients.

The Illinois Society of Acupuncturists (ILSA) released this statement: In accordance with state and federal guidelines, ILSA recommends that ALL clinics and private practices CLOSE. The priority in this pandemic is containment. In-person appointments carry the risk of transmission, even if precautions are taken, and it is the most vulnerable members of the population that are put in danger. Even if cleaned with hospital grade wipes, infection control teams recommend not using the room for three hours after someone who is infected. We don’t know everyone who is infected or carrying at this time. We believe it is our responsibility as a profession to reduce risk and practice preventive medicine for the safety of the entire community.

Governor Pritzker announced a "shelter in place" order effective Saturday March 21, 2020. In keeping with this order, Prairie Spring Acupuncture Clinic will be closed until this order is lifted. This is for the safety and health of each and every one of you.

Many of you are in the more vulnerable population: 60 years or older, those of any age who have chronic health conditions (like high blood pressure, heart disease, lung/respiratory disease, diabetes, etc) and/or are immune suppressed. The current recommendation for those of you in this population is that you self-isolate and stay at least 6 feet away from others when you must go out.

I will be sending out a newsletter with information on how to use acupressure and other natural remedies to support your immune system, better manage stress, and many other common health issues. Just because we have a pandemic doesn't mean your other health concerns have stopped, so each week I will address another common health issue with the use of acupressure and other things you can do at home for yourself. Once this pandemic has passed the newsletter will go back to once monthly.

If you are not currently receiving the monthly newsletter and would like to, please email me and I will gladly add you to the list: psacuclinic230@gmail.com. If you are a current patient and need some extra support, please contact me! I'll do what I can from a distance.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by email. I get those even on my days off, so it's the quickest way to contact me.

Welcome to Prairie Spring Acupuncture Clinic!

I fell in love with this medicine when I was treated for pain many years ago. I loved the simplicity of it, and the attention paid to the entire body and not just the part of the body that was experiencing a problem. For the first time, I had someone really listening to me. The pain relief I had was almost immediate, and there were no side effects.

Now here I am in my own practice, doing what I love and am passionate about. I provide my patients with the space to talk to me about their health issues, and information on lifestyle changes, nutrition, and exercise. This isn’t just about getting acupuncture treatment. This is about you. It’s about your health. It’s about finding a place where you can heal and feel heard. It’s about helping you find the healthiest you possible.
